Kung-Fu or `Wu-Shu'

Chinese Kung-Fu or `Wu-Shu' is undoubtedly one of the world's oldest martial arts systems and can be traced back as far as 2,000 years BC.  Kung-Fu can be broken into two main sections: `hard' and `soft'. The hard' systems involve mainly external methods of development while the `soft' systems such as Tai Chi, are practiced mainly for health and exercise although these can also be applied to self defense situations. In recent years Kung-Fu has been popularized by movies, but the differences between screen fiction and school training are worlds apart. However, the exposure on screen has helped to increase public interest And across the country more and more people - young and old - are practicing Kung-Fu. In the competition circuit, Kung-Fu is also making its mark.
